landscape
While you may look around and see strings of fabric pieced together, words and photos plastered across the wall, painted sceneries with vibrant colors, if you dig a little deeper, they are so much more. Every stroke, every color, every face and every word carrying the pieces that make us whole in moments that were designed to break us.
A piece of me, a piece of you. A piece of us. Woven into the fabric of space and time. A single view that expands beyond language of understanding. Here you will find remnants of family, of longing for home in a place that we attempt to recreate. We come from longing. From displacement and disconnection. We come from homeland. From diaspora. With roots that reach every corner of our world. We are the bearers of life and love despite every attempt to eradicate us. Each of us is a universe with endless stories to tell. We are of the land that birthed our thirst for liberation. Our hearts sewn together with resistance and struggle.
Carry with you this piece of me, this piece of you, this piece of us. Carry with you this moment that holds hundreds of years of history, tradition and culture. Carry with you this memory of family. Of togetherness. Of separation and connection. Carry with you this piece that says everything without uttering a single word. Capturing the essence of the soul through stories. This piece that carries me, carries you, carries us. Carry with you this landscape that forever encapsulates the very essence of our being.
